Stop No. 10 of 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Billabong Pipe Masters enjoyed classic conditions for the opening two days of the waiting period and event officials are anticipating a new swell to ignite the infamous reef later this week for a dramatic finish to competition.
"The swell we had yesterday dropped substantially overnight, so we're calling the contest off for today," Marty Thomas, Vans Triple Crown Contest Director said. "We're expecting a new swell to hit at the end of this week, but we'll still come back tomorrow morning to assess conditions."
When the competition resumes Gabriel Medina, Josh Kerr and Kelly Slater will take to the water in Heat 3 of Round 4.
